I’m deleting and will gladly pay the whole like $11 dollars it had knocked off our policy. Despite the threatening “you must keep this app open in the background” messages or whatever, snapshot managed to record allll of this ^^ regardless.Īnyway, my update is that it’s still a scam. There’s no way to change this data without dismissing the entire event as if you were a passenger.Īlso there’s now an extra trip showing during a time both me and my phone did not leave the house because my whole family had COVID. I do however have teenage daughters that take turns picking songs on my phone while it’s using Apple CarPlay. Update: I literally NEVER use or so much as touch my phone when I drive. Definitely seems like a scam to raise your rates. One of my “hard braking events” supposedly occurred when I gingerly parked my car in a cramped parking lot and another during the slowest roll through an extremely busy construction zone. Funny enough, I actually had ONE where a car (no signal) cut me off so they wouldn’t miss a turn and THAT one actually didn’t register. It said I had “7 events - hard braking” but the trip details only show 3. Not sure how it determines you are the driver but their programming needs some enhancing or de-bugging. I am the only one who drives my truck, so, does that mean that I was a passenger in another moving vehicle? Because on more than one occasion I was the driver and I was the only one in the vehicle and it shows I was not. My only concern about phone usage is What if you’re using Google maps to locate your destination? Does that count against you? Does it know when you pull over alongside the road to make a call rather than making it while driving? And, quite often it will show in the app that I was not the driver for a particular trip. Apparently, the only motor vehicle incidents that are monitored are hard brakes, fast acceleration, and percent of phone usage while you are driving for the duration of that individual trip. You are able to review your “trips” in the app. It’s easy to download and it just does its thing.
